At JC Toys every doll we create carries a little piece of our family history, our culture, and our roots in Spain. That is exactly what inspired the name Nonis Boutique.
The word “Nonis” comes from a charming colloquial expression used in Valencia, Spain, especially with young children when it is time to go to sleep. Parents and grandparents affectionately say “a fer nonis,” meaning “time to go sleepy” or “let’s go night-night.” It is a warm and loving phrase that has been part of childhood memories in many Valencian homes for generations.
When creating our doll collection, we wanted a name that felt gentle, comforting, and meaningful. Since many of our dolls feature realistic open-and-close eyes that allow them to “pretend” to fall asleep just like a real baby, the name Nonisfelt absolutely perfect. It captures the nurturing magic of caring for a baby doll while also celebrating the playful imagination of childhood.
More importantly, the name allows us to stay connected to our Spanish heritage. JC Toys has proudly designed dolls in Spain for decades, and our Valencian roots continue to inspire our creativity, craftsmanship, and love for doll making. By choosing the name Nonis Boutique, we combined a sweet childhood expression with the heart of our company’s story.
